Renting a car in Zanzibar is the key to unlocking the island's true magic. But to ensure a smooth experience, you need to be prepared. Our team has compiled this comprehensive checklist use it every time you pick up a vehicle, whether from us or any other provider. We want you to drive with total confidence.

Our vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance to support you during your rental. Please note that certain parts such as glass, mirrors, lights, indicators, minor scratches, and damage involving another vehicle may not be fully covered. The insurance applies to the vehicle only it does not cover the driver, passengers, or personal belongings left inside the car. In the event of damage or an accident, an excess of up to $500 may apply. Our team will always assist you with guidance if anything happens:

• What does "full insurance" actually cover? Windscreen? Tyres? Underbody?
• Is roadside assistance included? (We provide 24/7.)

Fuel is not included in the rental rate. The vehicle is provided with a small amount of fuel (approximately TZS 20,000 worth) to help you reach the nearest petrol station at the start of your trip. During the rental period, fuel costs are the renter’s responsibility. Please note that any unused fuel remaining in the tank at the end of the rental is not refundable or credited. We recommend refuelling as needed before returning the vehicle.

Read the contract carefully. Pay attention to:

• Geographical restrictions (e.g., some companies forbid driving on certain unpaved roads)
